Логическое подлежащее
Логическое подлежащее инфинитива, герундия или причастия (Infinitive, Gerund, Participle) - это лицо или предмет, к которому, как к подлежащему, относится действие, выраженное соответствующим инфинитивом / герундием / причастием (см. примеры ниже).
1) В предложении John wants to eat this peach - Джон хочет съесть этот персик логическим подлежащим инфинитива to eat является Джон (Джон хочет, чтобы Джон съел персик), а в предложении John wants Mary to eat the peach - Джон хочет, чтобы Мери съела этот персик логическим подлежащим инфинитива to eat является Мери.
2) В предложении I regret having bought the car - Я жалею, что купил эту машину логическим подлежащим герундия having bought является сам говорящий (Я жалею, что я купил эту машину). В предложении I regret her leaving — Сожалею, что она уехала, логическим подлежащим герундия leaving является уехавшая женщина.
3) В предложении Feeling tired, I went to bed — Почувствовав усталость, я лег спать логическим подлежащим причастия feeling является говорящий (Так как я почувствовал усталость, я лег спать). В предложении We stood on the bridge connecting two halves of the building — Мы стояли на мосту, соединявшем две половины здания логическим подлежащим причастия connecting является мост.
